Nilai-Nilai Moral dalam Novel Pohon-Pohon Sesawi Karya Y.B. Mangunwijaya: Sosiologi Sastra

Abstract

The novel Pohon-pohon Sesawi by Y.B. Mangunwijaya depicts the spiritual journey of Yunus, a man who becomes a Chatolic priest. Beyond its biographical narrative, the novel is rich with moral teachings. This study aims to analyze the moral values embedded in the text using a qualitative desctiptive approach and content analysis method. The findings reveal four key dimensions of moral values: (1) the relationship between humans and God , (2) the relationship between humans and others, (3) the relationship between humans and themselves, and (4) the relationship between humans and nature. Through these themes, the novel offers profund reflection on ethics, faith, and human interconnectedness.
