performance, especially in the banking sector that demands accuracy, thoroughness, compliance with operational standards. Effective leadership can encourage the formation of a disciplined work culture through accuracy, direction, supervision, and firm and fair decision making. This research aims to find out the role of leadership in improving employee discipline and identifying factors that are obstacles in the application of work discipline at PT. SUMUT KCP Krakatau Bank. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interview, and documentation. Interviews were conducted to leaders at PT. Bank SUMUT KCP Krakatau as the main source. Research results show that leaders actively carry out their roles as role models, movers, and decision makers in upholding employee discipline. The leadership style that is applied is a combination of transformational and participatory. Although the level of employee discipline is generally good, there are obstacles such as delays due to external factors, technical disruptions, uneven workload, and lack of consistency of initial reprimands. Effective leadership contributes significantly in improving employee work discipline. The combination of the right and consistent leadership style in supervision and sanctions needs to be continuously improved to build a sustainable discipline culture in the PT environment. SUMUT
