Analisis Kadar Hidrogen Sulfida (H2s) dengan Spektrofotometer Dr 3900 pada Air Sungai di Uptd Laboratorium Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) levels in river water have been analyzed to assess pollution levels based on environmental quality standards established by the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2021. Water samples were collected from four river locations in North Sumatra Province between January and February 2024. The analysis was conducted using the DR 3900 Spectrophotometer at the Environmental Laboratory Unit of the Environmental and Forestry Agency of North Sumatra Province.The results showed that H₂S concentrations in samples 33S, 34S, 39S, and 40S were 0.009 mg/L, 0.005 mg/L, 0.013 mg/L, and 0.017 mg/L, respectively. All values were below the permissible limits for class II and III surface water (0.05 mg/L) and far below the maximum threshold for domestic wastewater (0.3 mg/L). These findings indicate that the river water analyzed is still within the safe range and does not exhibit significant H₂S contamination. Regular monitoring and water quality supervision are recommended to ensure the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems and public health
