dc.description.abstract“The aim of this research is to analyze the competitiveness of smallholder palm oil plantation in Air Batu District, Asahan Regency using Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) analysis tool in order to obtain information that can be used as a basis for making strategic decisions, including product diversification, investment and business expansion and government policies such as fertilizer subsidies and the Smallholder Palm oil Plantation Rejuvenation Program (PSR). In order to determine the competitiveness of smallholder oil palm plantation, competitive and comparative advantage approaches are used. The (1) Competitive Advantage can be seen from Private Profitability (PP) and Private Cost Ratio (PCR). Meanwhile, (2) Comparative Advantage can be seen from Social Profitability (SP) and Domestic Resource Cost Ratio (DRCR). The results of the analysis show that the Smallholder Palm Oil Plantation in Air Batu District is competitively and comparatively superior as indicated by the values of PP>0, PCR<1, SP>0, and DRCR <1.”en_US
