Infiltration was a crucial mechanism in the hydrological cycle, playing a significant role in groundwater recharge and flood risk reduction. The infiltration rate of liquids into the soil was influenced by the liquid’s viscosity as well as the physical properties of the soil, such as texture, moisture content, porosity, and organic matter content. This study aimed to examine the infiltration rates of several types of liquids, namely pure water, saline water, and urea fertilizer solution, in Andosol soil. The research was conducted using a field experimental method with a double ring infiltrometer. The results showed that the urea fertilizer solution had the highest infiltration rate at 0.14 cm/min, followed by pure water at 0.11 cm/min, and saline water with the lowest infiltration rate of 0.09 cm/min. The lower infiltration rate of saline water was influenced by its higher viscosity, which hindered the movement of liquid into the soil.en_US
