    Abstract
Bahorok District, especially Timbang Lawan Village, has the potential for plantation waste that can be utilized to meet the needs of beef cattle feed. Data from Langkat Regency shows that in 2022 the beef cattle population will reach 220.992. The large number of fronds produced from plantations each year makes oil palm fronds a promising source of fibrous feed for ruminants. The use of UAV or drone devices can be utilized in calculating and mapping land area. The use and availability of feed in a land area by utilizing waste potential needs to be further understood by calculating the capacity. Calculation of livestock capacity is needed to determine the amount of green fodder available for livestock in the pasture. This research was conducted in February-March 2025 in Timbang Lawan Village, Bahorok District and the Laboratory of Feed Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The method used in this study was a survey and direct observation at the location in determining the sampling to be used, based on the division of oil palm plantations in Timbang Lawan village consisting of 3 of the largest plantation areas with oil palm ages of over 10 years. Calculation of dry matter was carried out using the AOAC method (1990). The production of dry matter from oil palm plantations in Timbang Lawan Village produces 4.989,740 BK tons/year of oil palm fronds and leaves and can accommodate 1.822 ST of cattle with a body weight of 250 kg per year. The index of carrying capacity of forage for livestock shows a vulnerable security level of 1.65.
