The waste problem is one of the environmental issues that has yet to be controlled.Waste pickers and transporters are groups of workers who are often directly exposed to various types of waste. This study aims to analyse the factors associated with skin complaints in waste pickers and waste transporters at Tanjung Pinggir landfill. This type of research is quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional research design. The sample consisted of 65 waste pickers and waste transporters who were taken using accidental sampling technique. Data were analysed with chi square test to determine the relationship between independent variables and skin complaints. The results showed that working period (p= 0,001), education (p= 0,002), PPE usage (p= 0,016) and personal hygiene (p= 0,000) had a significant relationship with skin complaints Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship between skin complaints with age, gender, and working hours (p>0.05). It is concluded that long working period, low education level, lack of PPE equipment, and poor personal hygiene are risk factors for waste pickers and waste transporters to experience skin complaints at Tanjung Pinggir landfill. It is recommended that waste pickers and waste transporters at Tanjung Pinggir landfill pay more attention to personal hygiene and equip themselves with appropriate PPE. In addition, it is recommended for the government and related agencies to conduct counseling and training on personal hygiene practices for waste pickers and waste transporters and ensure the availability of adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
