Forensic Linguistic Study of Experential Meaning Evaluation in Official Report of Inheritance Lawsuit in District Court of Medan

Cases regarding language in the legal realm are often discussed in
forensic linguistic studies. This study analyzes the minutes of inheritance lawsuits
at the Medan District Court. The data used is the text of the official report sourced
from the inheritance lawsuit at the Medan District Court. Data were analyzed
through four stages proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, namely data
collection, data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The results
of the study indicate that there are several processes in the Minutes of the
Inheritance Lawsuit, namely material, mental, relational, behavioral, verbal and
tangible processes. In experiential food, the most dominant in the news report is the
verbal process as much as 32%. While in the appraisal there are three processes,
namely attitude, positioning and graduation in the minutes of inheritance lawsuits
that are domaind, namely the graduation process as much as 38%. Both processes
have an interaction pattern which is a combination of experiential and appraisal
meanings. For the pattern of interaction in this report, there are 18 patterns found
in the minutes of inheritance claims at the Medan District Court
