This study discusses how women’s empowerment is shown in the movie Birds of Prey (2020), directed by Cathy Yan. The research looks at how the main female characters Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya gain control over their lives, make their own decisions, and become stronger. The study uses a qualitative method with thematic analysis. It uses Naila Kabeer’s theory of empowerment, which includes three important parts: resources, agency, and achievements. The results show that each woman in the film has her own way of being empowered. Harley becomes independent after leaving the Joker. Black Canary speaks up and protects others. Huntress turns her painful past into strength. Renee Montoya leaves her job to follow what she believes is right. The film shows that women can support each other and face challenges together. It also sends a message that women can be strong, independent, and confident in many different ways.en_US
