Analisis Nilai Tukar Petani Padi Sawah Irigasi di Desa Wonosari Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

Irrigated lowland rice is a major food crop cultivated on paddy fields with a regular irrigation system. Wonosari Village is known as one of the irrigated lowland rice-producing areas with high production levels every planting season. However, despite the high rice production, farmers' expenditures, both for farming needs and household needs (food and non-food), are also high. This indicates an imbalance between farmers' income and expenses. This study aims to analyze the proportion of household expenditures from farmers' total income and to analyze the Irrigated Lowland Rice Farmer's Terms of Trade (FTT) in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. Based on the hypothesis, it is suspected that the household expenditures of irrigated lowland rice farmers in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency are greater than their total income, leading to a Farmer's Terms of Trade (FTT) value below 100 (FTT < 100). The methods used in this study include formulas for household expenditure and income, as well as the Farmer's Terms of Trade (FTT) formula. The research sample consisted of 50 samples taken from a population of 100 irrigated lowland rice farmers using the Slovin method. The results show that the household expenditures of irrigated lowland rice farmers in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency are greater than their total income, thus the Irrigated Lowland Rice Farmer's Terms of Trade (FTT) in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency is less than 100 (FTT < 100).
