Peran KPU Kabupaten Deli Serdang dalam Meningkatkan Partisipasi Politik pada Pilkada Kabupaten Deli Serdang Tahun 2024

Abstract

This thesis is motivated by the role of the KPU of Deli Serdang Regency in increasing political participation in the 2024 Deli Serdang Regency elections. This thesis aims to explain how the role and factors inhibiting the role of the KPU of Deli Serdang Regency in the 2024 Deli Serdang Regency election. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, namely on social reality and interactive relationships. Data collection techniques using in-depth interview techniques and through literature studies. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the role of the KPU of Deli Serdang Regency is as an agent who is responsible to the community (principal) for organizing elections in a professional, accountable, and transparent manner. Furthermore, the efforts of KPU Deli Serdang Regency in increasing political participation can be seen in various roles such as: the role of education, information/media, novice voters, women, the elderly, disabled, marginalized, and cooperation with stake holders and the government. While the obstacles of the KPU of Deli Serdang Regency in the elections are limited human resources in the KPU, the actual funds / costs of implementing the elections are lacking, geographical constraints, low public trust, and high rainfall at the time of the election occurred in the election of Deli Serdang Regency in 2024.
