Perubahan Morfologi Dari Modifikasi Liquid Natural Rubber - Aspal Menggunakan Emulsifier Triton X - 114
Morphological Changes of Liquid Natural Rubber - Asphalt Modification Using Emulsifier Triton X - 114
Abstract
Research has been done on polymer asphalt modification, where asphalt is
mixed with Liquid Natural Rubber (LNR) from a mixture of Triton X – 114 and
phenylhidrazine. Where the preparation and characterization of Liquid Natural
Rubber (LNR) as a compatibliser, Triton X – 114 as an emulsifier and phenylhidrazine
as an oxidative degrader in the depolymerization process. The first thing to do was
dilution of concentrated latex using Triton X – 114 and carried out with oxidative
degradation using phenylhidrazine/O2 at 55 for 3 x 24 hours and then
characterized, molecular weight analysis using Ostwald Viscometer and Brookfield
Viscometer and morphological changes by SEM analysis. The resulting LNR product
has a molecular weight of 12,5892 x 102
by Ostwald Viscometer analysis which is
completely soluble in toluene solvent. Analysis using a Brookfield Viskometer resulted
in the appropriate specifications based on the 2010 revision of the 2012 Bina Marga
with the viscosity value at a temperature of 135 is 300 cP shows the optimum result
of the asphalt – LNR variation at a temperature of 135 is the variation of asphalt –
LNR 40:60 which is in accordance with the specification of Bina Marga as an
ingredient in asphalt binders. The second step is to modify asphalt – LNR ratio (20:80
; 40:60; 60:40 ; 80:20) and the characterized using SEM analysis to determine the
morphological changes.
