Analysis of free fatty acid (FFA) levels in CPO has been carried out at PT.
Padasa Enam Utama Teluk Dalam. This study aims to assess the quality of CPO (Crude
Palm Oil) in PT. Padasa Enam Utama Teluk Dalam truck tanks through chemical
composition studies. The parameters used are analysis of free fatty acid (FFA) levels
and moisture content. Analysis of water content is carried out using a moisture analyzer,
while FFA analysis is carried out using the titration method using 1% phenolphthalein
color indicator. Determination of the amount of free fatty acids is carried out using the
alkalimetry titration method, while determination of water content uses the oven method.
The results of the analysis showed that the fatty acid content for observation I was
3.05%, observation II 3.06%, observation III 3.04%, and observation IV 3,07%. For
water content, observation I reached 0,16%, observation II 0,18%, and observation III
0,23%. SNI CPO refers to a free fatty acid content of 5.0% and a water content of 0.5%
(SNI 01-2901-2006).
