dc.description.abstract | Scabies, often also called gudik or buduk, is a disease caused by the infestation of Sarcoptes scabiei mite which is highly contagious, especially through direct contact and characterized by itching and rashes. The prevalence of scabies ranges from 0.4% to 71%, with the highest prevalence in the Western Pacific region, followed by Africa and Southeast Asia in 2000 – 2024. Geographically, scabies are more common in developing countries, tropical climates, and in areas with limited water access. The highest prevalen ce of scabies found in Indonesia is 76.9% located in boarding schools. The purpose of this study is to analyze factors related to the incidence of scabies at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Lawe Sigala-gala District, Southeast Aceh Regency. The quantitative research design in this study used a cross sectional study. The research was carried out from June 2024 to June 2025 at the Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Lawe Sigala-gala District, Southeast Aceh Regency. The subjects in this study are students in the location. This study involved 120 respondents using total sampling. Data collection using questionnaires, then processed with SPSS software. Furthermore, univariate, bivariate with chi-square and multivariate analysis with logistic regression were performed. There is a knowledge relationship (p value = 0.001; OR= 7.03; 95%CI=2,16-22,84), attitude (p value= 0.015; OR= 4.49; 95%CI=1,33-15,12), personal hygiene (p value < 0.001; OR= 23.29; 95%CI=5,5-98,54), environmental sanitation (p value < 0.001; OR= 14.71; 95%CI=4,12-52,54), and support for pesantren administrators (p value= 0.005; OR= 8.94; 95%CI=1,96-40,79) against the incidence of scabies. Knowledge, attitudes, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and support of pesantren administrators are related to the incident of scabies at the Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Lawe Sigala-gala District, Southeast Aceh Regency. Personal hygiene is the dominant factor related to these incidents. | en_US |
