Indonesia's tropical rainforests are among the most vital and biodiverse ecosystems in the world. However, the high rate of deforestation and the low level of awareness among both the public and government regarding forest conservation remain major challenges. This highlights the urgent need for more effective and engaging educational efforts. Unfortunately, the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to deliver in-depth and interactive content about tropical rainforest ecosystems is still very limited. In addition, conventional learning methods often fall short in fostering active engagement with environmental issues. Therefore, a new approach is needed—one that not only provides information but also encourages user participation. A promising method is the integration of VR technology with gamification elements. This study aims to develop an innovative learning medium in the form of a VR-based simulation that allows users to explore Indonesia's tropical rainforests, enriched with gamification elements such as challenges, points, and rewards. Through this approach, users are expected to gain an immersive and enjoyable learning experience while being motivated to care more about forest conservation. The results of this development are expected to serve as an effective educational tool to enhance users' understanding and awareness of the importance of preserving Indonesia's tropical rainforests.
