Semiotics is a field that investigates signs, their roles, and how they shape meaning in culture and communication. It aims to describe what are the meanings of the Dayok Binatur symbols in the Simalungun traditional wedding ceremony and to describe what are the cultural and philosophical values of Dayok Binatur in Simalungun society. Dayok Binatur has a philosophical and cultural meaning in the traditional wedding ceremony.Dayok Binatur is a traditional Simalungun food and is only served at certain times. The data collection method used in this study is the simulating method (Sudaryanto in Zaim 2014). The data analysis technique uses the presentation of informants where this method is carried out using ordinary words even though the use of technical terminology. The results of the study on Dayok Binatur in the traditional wedding ceremony of the Simalungun community show that Dayok Binatur is not only a traditional food dish, but also has an important role as a cultural symbol that has philosophical, social, and spiritual meanings. Based on research findings on the cultural and philosophical values of Dayok Binatur in Simalungun society, it can be concluded that Dayok Binatur is a representation of customary, moral, spiritual, and social values that have been passed down from generation to generation.
