This research discusses the history of Sakoku as adapted into the game Genshin Impact. The study aims to provide an overview of the Inazuma region in Genshin Impact, which is adapted from Japan’s Sakoku policy, and to analyze how the game maintains historical accuracy within a fictional game world. Theories used in this study include Historical Theory, Comparative Analysis Theory, and Adaptation Theory. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive. Data was collected from dialogues and narratives in Genshin Impact that relate to Sakoku policies in the Inazuma region, particularly in Archon Quest II: Omnipresence Over Mortals. The Inazuma region in the game is adapted from Japan. This is evidenced by the character names, local cuisine, folklore, and political policies resembling Sakoku found in Genshin Impact, which show similarities to Japanese culture. The research findings show the accuracy of Sakoku policies in Genshin Impact compared to the historical Sakoku policy of Japan, especially in terms of isolationism, social repression, ideological enforcement, and the shogunate government. This research is expected to provide insight into the influence of Japanese history on literary media in video games.en_US
