This research aims to develop a motorcycle safety and monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The identification of the problem shows that as the theft occurs, public unrest increases. The theft can be prevented by adding a security system for motorcycles. One of the most famous motorcycle security systems today is using IoT (Internet of Things). IoT projects can be the latest solution to the problem of motorcycle theft. The motorcycle safety monitoring system can easily track the location of the motorcycle using GPS (Global Positioning System) and also the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) module. RFID modules are also used for the system authorization process. In this motorcycle security monitoring system, data exchange is very important for the speed of transmitting theft information and the location of the motorcycle. The protocol used on this system is MQTT for data communication. The system uses the MQTT protocol, with the broker as the server and MQTTX as the client application in real-time to receive and display data from the sensors. In this test, it is shown that the system is able to transmit data with good throughput and very good packet loss. Despite the higher delays and the regulated delivery intervals, this does not have a significant impact on the functioning of the motorcycle safety monitoring system as well as the improvement of the quality of network connections and QoS settings. The MQTT communication protocol also has reliability that can be seen from parameters such as throughput, delay, and packet loss.
