The need for electrical energy has become an essential part of human life. All human activities, from household activities to industrial activities, are highly dependent on electrical energy. Solar energy can be utilized as a backup energy source to meet the need for electrical energy and can be applied in Indonesia. To obtain maximum efficiency from sunlight, solar cells must always be positioned facing the direction of sunlight. However, due to changes in the position of the sun at any time, solar cells are unable to absorb solar energy optimally. In previous research, by Hribhu Chowdurry and Tazul Islam, the use of zener diodes was able to increase the output of solar cells to be able to recharge batteries with small capacities without paying attention to the detailed value of the increase obtained due to the use of zener diodes. In this study, the authors have a desire to use zener diodes combined with capacitors to increase the maximum and efficient output value of solar cells, testing the use of a Zener diode on a solar cell output without a battery produces a voltage according to the Zener diode specifications if Vin > Vz. Meanwhile, if Vin < Vz, the voltage will correspond to the current value Vz = I. Rz. Therefore, increased power is obtained only if there is a different load.
