    Abstract
Long bean plants are one of the important commodities that deal with pest disturbances, including leafminer flies (Liriomyza spp.), which can reduce production yields. This study aims to identify the diversity of Liriomyza spp. populations and the level of parasitoid parasitization on long bean plants in Deli Serdang Regency. This study used a survey method with a purposive sampling technique in Hamparan Perak and Kutalimbaru Districts, at an altitude of 12-146 meters above sea level. Identification was carried out in two laboratories, namely the Laboratory of the Technical Implementation Unit for Food Crop Protection and Horticulture of North Sumatra Province (Medan Johor Plant Pest and Disease Observation Laboratory) and the University Sumatera Utara Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory from September to completion. The results showed that the Liriomyza species found were Liriomyza sativae with a total of 630 individuals, followed by Liriomyza chinensis with 4 individuals. Only one type of parasitoid was found, namely Hemiptarsenus varicornis with a parasitization percentage of 0.70-1.25%. The parasitization level found was relatively low, indicating that natural control by parasitoids was not yet effective. This finding provides important information for pest management strategies on long bean plants in the study area.
