dc.description.abstractIndonesia is one of the countries with a high level of vulnerability to geological disasters, including landslides. This condition is influenced by geographical and geological factors, such as high rainfall, slope steepness, and active tectonic activity. Mardingding District, Karo Regency has undulating to steep topography and agricultural activities on sloping land that are prone to cause soil degradation. This study aims to analyze the level of landslide risk based on the Geographic Information System (GIS) which is expected to support more effective landslide disaster mitigation measures in Mardingding District. The location of this research is in Mardingding District, Karo Regency, with a focus on analyzing the level of vulnerability, susceptibility, and capacity of the region using QGIS 3.22.5 software with scoring and overlay techniques referring to the Minister of Public Works Regulation No. 22/PRT/M/2007 and the Head of BNPN Regulation No. 2 of 2012. The results of the analysis are then validated with the ROC curve to ensure the accuracy of the resulting landslide risk level. Based on the results of the analysis, the risk level of landslides in Mardingding District consists of 5 classes: very low risk level (4,688 km2), low risk level (29,619 km2), moderate risk level (32,076 km2), high risk level (30,954 km2), and very high risk level (226,043 km2). Mardinding District is dominated by a very high risk level with a total of 7 sub-districts/villages, namely Kuta Pengkih Village, Rimo Bunga Village, Lau Mulgap Village, Tanjung Pamah Village, Mardingding Village, Lau Kasumpat Village, and Lau Pengulu Village.en_US
