Proposal for Improving the Layout of Production Facilities at PT Bukit Intan Abadi (BIA) Using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) Method and the Blocplan Algorithm
Abstract
The industrial revolution 4.0, you must be familiar with various production businesses, both small, medium, and large. To achieve the success of the production business, it must also be accompanied by the initial vision and mission to be achieved, so it is necessary to plan and design that must be prepared so that later it will be able to achieve the best production goals. Factors that affect the goal of production success are not only about investment, capital, suppliers, machines, skills, and distributors but also one of the things that must be observed is the planning of the layout and placement of factory facilities. PT. Bukit Intan Abadi (BIA) is a wood processing company of FJLB (Finger Joint Laminating Board). Problems that occurred during the research were delays in fulfilling orders, the distance of the position of the Sawmil station to Vaccum as far as 33.25m, Cross Movement from Sanding Costa station to the Material Warehouse passed by the sawmill to the vaccum and Bottleneck the Vaccum to KD and the flow efficiency value on the actual layout of the LER calculation is 74%. This study aims to evaluate the actual production floor layout, minimize the total displacement distance, and provide layout proposals using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method and the Blocplan Algorithm. After the layout design was carried out, 2 alternatives were obtained in each design, then compared the two Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) methods and the Blocplan Algorithm. Based on the results of the layout research, the proposal was selected using the alternative Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) 2 method with a minimum total displacement of 555.13 m and a LER of 80%.
