dc.description.abstractIn the modern era, energy demand has increased significantly, while fossil fuel reserves such as petroleum are gradually depleting. One of the efforts to improve energy efficiency in the transportation sector is through fuel technology innovation. The turbo cyclone is an additional device installed in internal combustion engines that functions to create a swirling airflow into the combustion chamber, thereby enhancing combustion intensity and efficiency. This study aims to analyze the effect of varying blade angles on the turbo cyclone toward the Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) and fuel consumption of the Yanmar L40 engine used by the Horas USU Team.The turbo cyclone was designed using SolidWorks 2020, while airflow simulation was conducted using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) through ANSYS Fluent 2020 R2. The blade angle variations analyzed were 30º, 45º, and 60º. Simulation results showed that the 60º blade angle produced an airflow velocity of 2.84 m/s and pressure of 1.90 Pa, along with an AFR value of 19.17. Fuel consumption at this angle was 0.8189 L/hour, which was the lowest compared to other variations.It can be concluded that the turbo cyclone with a 60º blade angle provides the best efficiency in increasing AFR and reducing fuel consumption. This study contributes to the development of energy-efficient technology in diesel engines.en_US
