Kajian Kuat Tekan dan Lentur pada Komposit Mortar ECC dengan Kerikil Aspal Porous Berbasis Styrofoam dan Crumb Rubber
Study of Compressive and Flexural Strength on ECC Mortar Composites with Porous Asphalt Gravel Based on Styrofoam and Crumb Rubber
Abstract
The issues of road infrastructure and waste management in Indonesia present
serious challenges that require innovative and sustainable solutions. This study
aims to evaluate the compressive and flexural strength of Engineered Cementitious
Composite (ECC) mortar combined with porous asphalt gravel modified with
styrofoam and crumb rubber, as well as supplementary materials such as fly ash
and rice husk ash. The composite was created by mixing asphalt gravel modified
with styrofoam and crumb rubber, then pouring ECC mortar into the voids of the
aggregate. Testing was conducted on cube specimens (15×15×15 cm) for
compressive strength and beam specimens (15×15×60 cm) for flexural strength, at
curing ages of 3 and 7 days. The study utilized styrofoam and crumb rubber
additives at 7.5% and 15%, fly ash at 15%, and rice husk ash at 5% of the cement
weight. The results are expected to offer an environmentally friendly, cost-effective,
and high-performance alternative for road pavement. Additionally, this approach
has the potential to reduce persistent organic and inorganic waste, while
strengthening the strategy of utilizing industrial and agricultural waste in the
construction sector.
