This thesis is entitled Pagar Pangulu Balang Manuscript (No.07.143) which is one of the collections of the North Sumatra Provincial Museum. This study aims to present the process of transliteration, text translation, manuscript identification, and manuscript analysis through a standard edition approach. The theory used in this study is philological theory, with a qualitative method that applies a single manuscript standard edition approach. The results of the study indicate that this manuscript can be transliterated and translated from the Toba Batak script into Indonesian, although there is damage to several pages. This study successfully identified eighteen important aspects of the manuscript, including the title of the manuscript, manuscript number, storage location of the manuscript, origin of the manuscript, size of the manuscript, thickness of the manuscript, condition of the manuscript, thickness of the manuscript, number of lines per page, writing of letters/manuscripts, writing style, origin of the manuscript, manuscript material, text form, age of the manuscript, author/writer of the manuscript, social function of the manuscript, summary/abstract of the manuscript. In addition, improvements and word separation were made to determine the contents of the manuscript. From this analysis it was also found that there were no errors that changed the reader's interpretation of the manuscript text.
