Indonesia is a country that has a large area and a high population. As a country with diverse geographical conditions and a dispersed population, Indonesia still faces challenges in fulfilling energy for all of its citizens, one of which is Perumnas Simalingkar. Simalingkar Village is located in Simalingkar, Medan City, North Sumatra. Simalingkar has abundant natural resource potential due to its strategic location. One of them is a source of water that flows swiftly throughout the year. So far, the use of the river flow has only been used by the local community to flow the fields as irrigation canals. This was done because most of the people have a livelihood as farmers. However, the roads in these villages have minimal lighting, resulting in pitch black access roads between villages at night. This study aims to produce a pico hydro power generator using a screw turbine. The river flow that will be utilized in this study has a width of 2.16 cm and a depth of 120 cm. The advantage of the potential for clean and renewable energy in Sihemun Baru Village is that it should be developed massively and with diversification of new renewable energy generators, such as a pico hydro hydroelectric power plant using an Archimedes screw turbine. This study aims to produce a pico hydro power generator using a screw turbine. The working principle of this tool is to take advantage of the low flow of river water (does not require dams or ponds). River water flows into the turbine screw and drives the turbine screw so that it rotates the generator through a shaft connected to the clutch. The mechanical energy from the shaft is converted into electrical energy by the generator. Based on the results obtained, a water head height of 100 cm with a gear ratio of 1:5.83 and a water discharge capacity of 18.66 liters/second with 1 blade can produce 15,21 watts of generator power and a generator rotational speed of 224 RPM with a voltage coming out of the generator is 11.52 volts.
