dc.description.abstract | Nutrition facts are labels found on packaged food and beverages, providing details about nutrient content serving size and the percentage of daily nutrient requirements. Adolescents often have the freedom to choose packaged food and beverages without considering their nutrient content, which may lead to health risks. Nutritional knowledge can influence adolescents' attitudes toward selecting food and beverages they consume. Nutrition education on nutrition facts is necessary to help adolescents choose packaged food and beverages according to their body's needs. This study aims to determine the influence of nutrition education on knowledge about nutrition facts of students at Pancabudi Senior High School in Medan. The research was conducted quantitatively using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test design on 70 students. The sample consisted of 70 grade XI students from Pancabudi Senior High School in Medan, selected using proportional random sampling. Knowledge data were measured through a questionnaire with 10 multiple-choice questions. Statistical testing of the data was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant difference in the average knowledge scores of students before (41.4) and after (96.43) the nutrition education, delivered using lectures and booklets, along with demonstrations using examples of packaged food and beverages, with a p-value of <0.001. In conclusion, there is an influence of nutrition education on knowledge about nutrition facts among Pancabudi Senior High School students in Medan.
