dc.description.abstractThis research is motivated by the function of literary works, namely as dulce et utile which means entertainment and useful. One of the uses is to examine the values of character education in the novel Hello by Tere Liye using the Ministry of Education's theory of character education values. This study aims to describe the character education values contained in the novel Hello by Tere Liye. This research uses literary sociology studies which are useful for examining how characters behave as members of society. The type of research used is qualitative research, which describes and explains the facts contained in the text of the novel Hello which is presented in the form of quotations and the technique of collecting data is the literature study method. The data in this study are sentences contained in the novel Hello. From the results of the study, ten character education values were found, social care, responsibility, tolerance, respect for achievement, curiosity, discipline, religion, peace love, friendly/communicative, and love for the country and each data has described educational values that can be used as examples for readers.en_US
