Analisis Performa Baterai Air Laut Menggunakan Elektroda Cu-Zn
Seawater Battery Performance Analysis Using Cu-Zn Electrodes
Abstract
One source of energy that can be used as an alternative energy is the battery,
where in a battery there is a voltaic cell reaction, is a chemical reaction that is
spontaneous and can produce an electric current, where the cathode as a positive tick
while the anode as a negative tick. In this thesis, research was conducted on the
characteristics of seawater batteries, using seawater as a solution, this is in accordance
with one of the conditions for the reaction of volta cells to be done if in the dissolve
must have positive ions (cations) and negative ions (anions), where in seawater
contained NA+ and CL- ions, while for the electrodes use Zn-Cu, metals on Zn and
Cu that become positive and negative electrodes, this is due to the release of electrons
that occur. Due to oxidation reactions in the Zn metal, the reduction reaction in the
Cu metal is therefore the Zn metal can be said to be an anode (negative pole) and Cu
is said to be a cathode (positive pole). In testing, a single configuration, 2 series
configuration, and 2 parallel configuration are carried out. From this study, the results
of the open voltage test of the single configuration battery were 0.75V and there was
a decrease to 0.76V at minute 1 120, the results of the open voltage test of the 2
series configuration battery were 1.48V and there was a decrease to 1.46V at minute
120, the results of the open voltage test of the 2 parallel configuration battery were
0.74 V and there was a decrease to 0.73V at minute 120, the results of the single
configuration battery current test with a load of 1 were The voltage is 0.73V, the
current is 0.16A, and the resistance is 3.5625 the voltage is 0.70V, the current is
0.10, while the resistance is increased to 6 at the minute of 120, the results of the
battery current test configuration 2 series with a load of 1 are 1.41V, the current is
0.16A, and the resistance is 7.812 to 0.70V, the current is 0.08, while the resistance
is increased to 16.375at the minute of 120, and the results of the single configuration
battery current test with a load of 1⁗ are the voltages. 0.73V, 0.24A current, and
2.041 resistance decrease to 0.69V voltage, 0.21A current while the resistance
increases to 2,285 at 120 minutes
