Pengaruh Mutual Trust Terhadap Integrasi Sosial pada Masyarakat Kota Pekanbaru
The Influence of Mutual Trust on Social Integration in Pekanbaru City Society
Abstract
This study aims to measure the influence of mutual trust and community integration
in the city of Pekanbaru. This study uses a quantitative approach, measuring
independent variables (mutual trust) and dependent variables (social integration).
Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and observations for primary
data and literature studies for secondary data. Spearman's correlation analysis was
used to measure the influence between variables. The intermediate variables in this
study were socioeconomic status (income, length of residence, and age) and the
plurality of the selected sample settlements. This study was conducted in Sukajadi
Village, which is inhabited by four majority ethnic groups, namely Minang, Malay,
Javanese, and Batak. After testing, there was a significant positive influence of
mutual trust on social integration at the micro and meso levels. This means that the
higher the mutual trust, the higher the social integration at the micro and meso
levels. Additionally, there was a significant influence of income level on the
relationship between mutual trust and social integration. Based on the analysis
results, people with high income levels have higher mutual trust and social
integration than those with low income levels. Similarly, length of residence, age,
and plurality have a significant influence on the relationship between mutual trust
and social integration. Residents who have lived longer in the area have higher
mutual trust and social integration because the length of residence reflects the
amount of interaction that has taken place. Older residents have higher mutual trust
and social integration because of their desire to maintain emotional connections
with neighbors. The plurality of the community in Sukajadi Village, Pekanbaru City,
does not significantly influence mutual trust and social integration, as the
community does not judge individuals based on their background but rather on their
individual personalities.
