development of contemporary architecture not only reflects technological and aesthetic progress but also plays a crucial role as a medium for fostering social interaction in public spaces. This study and design proposal focuses on a Concert Venue and Convention Exhibition Hall in the Polonia area of Medan, using a contemporary architectural approach that emphasizes social connectivity, spatial flexibility, and user experience. Polonia was chosen due to its potential as an emerging cultural and economic hub in the city of Medan.
The design aims to create inclusive and open spaces, considering the relationship between public, semi-public, and private spatial scales. Architectural elements such as fluid circulation, open interaction areas, and the integration of landscape and structure serve as the main strategies to encourage organic social interaction. The program includes a main concert hall, flexible exhibition areas, community spaces, and supporting commercial facilities that act as catalysts for continuous social activity.
By combining contemporary architectural principles with the need for adaptive social spaces, this project is envisioned to become a new landmark that fulfills cultural and economic functions while strengthening social cohesion within Medan's urban community.
