The development of technology nowadays has enabled human labor, especially in the manufacturing industry, which was previously performed manually, to be carried out automatically. CV. XYZ, a private company engaged in manufacturing in the form of an industrial/SME machine workshop, produces machines including a coffee bean peeling machine. There are user issues with the coffee bean peeling machine. The integration of Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Value Engineering, and economic life estimation methods are applied in the design improvement of the coffee bean peeling machine. The questionnaire results were processed using the QFD method, yielding a House of Quality (HoQ) matrix containing the desired product specifications for the coffee bean peeling machine. The QFD results are integrated with Value Engineering and then realized into a final product, followed by economic value and analysis calculations. The improvement specifications based on user requirements include a machine capacity
of 600 kg/hour with a diesel-powered main engine and a frame material made of steel plates. According to the Value Engineering analysis, the blade material
selection is stainless steel with a dual belt transmission and the addition of a magnet on the hopper to prevent foreign objects from entering during machine operation.
