    Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication and work motivation on job satisfaction among contract employees (PKWT) at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV, Regional Office II . The plantation sector, particularly palm oil, plays a crucial role in Indonesia’s economy; however, contract-based employment systems are often associated with low levels of job satisfaction. A lack of interpersonal communication and low work motivation are suspected to be key factors affecting the job satisfaction of contract employees. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 61 contract employees and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Classical assumption tests were also conducted to ensure the validity of the research model. The results indicate that interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. The better the communication between employees and supervisors, the higher the level of job satisfaction experienced. Work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, where highly motivated employees tend to be more satisfied with their jobs. Simultaneously, interpersonal communication and work motivation have a significant influence on the job satisfaction of contract employees. These findings highlight the importance of improving communication between employees and supervisors, as well as providing incentives and career development opportunities to enhance work motivation and, in turn, increase job satisfaction.
