    Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of training and workload on the performance of Productive Account Officers (AO) at PT. Bank Sumut, considering the role of organizational commitment as an intervening variable. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of declining target achievement percentages by AOs from 2022 to 2024, despite the number of training programs remaining consistent each year. Data shows that AO target achievement decreased from 58.81% in 2022 to 48.16% in 2024, while the training provided has not yet shown a significant impact on performance improvement. A preliminary survey of 15 AOs revealed that although most respondents found the training materials relevant and applicable to their jobs, there is a perception that the training methods have not been fully effective, and the workload has been increasing. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design, involving a sample of 41 employees, and uses inferential statistical analysis to examine the relationships between variables. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The testing was conducted to assess both the direct influence of training and workload on performance, and the indirect influence through organizational commitment. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the development of more effective training programs, evaluate workload management, and enhance overall AO performance within the banking environment.
