Malaria is a global community problem with infectious disease and is a major cause
of mortification and mortality primarily in what is still developing countries. It can
affect all good people of all ages, as well as gender. Malaria is still an issue that
needs to be fixed in both Indonesia and the world because of the high level of pain.
The purpose of this study is to analyze factors - factors related to the incidence of
malaria in upt district of western nias district. The type of research used in this
study is a quantitative analytic approach with a design for a case control study. A
total of 174 participants were included in this study, comprising 58 cases and 116
controls selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria using a 1:2
ratio. The data analysis in the process is a descriptive univariate analysis, a
bivariate analysis with chi square, anda multivariate analysis with regression
logistics. This study has been linked to gender (p-value= 0.003), education (p
value= 0.003), employment (p-value= 0.004), mosquito coil (p-value= 0.021),
home ventilation is installed by a mosquito net (p-value= 0.026) with the incidence
of malaria. There is no relationship between age, mosquito repellents, and mosquito
net usage to the incidence of malaria. Based on a variable multivarial analysis
relating to the incidence of malaria is Occupation as a farmer. It is expected for
health officials to educate or educate communities about the use of mosquito nets,
repelent use, mosquito repellent (spray/electric) and the use of mosquito gauze in
home vents.
