Pengaruh Nasionalisme terhadap Partisipasi Sosial Masyarakat Miskin di Kota Medan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence between nationalism and social participation among impoverished communities in the city of Medan. The study involved 111 participants from low-income populations in Medan, selected using the Accidental Sampling technique. The results of this study, analyzed using a non-linear regression with an exponential model, showed that nationalism had a positive and significant effect on social participation (R² = 0.762; p < 0.001), with a regression coefficient of 0.051 and a beta value of 0.873. The non-linear analysis was conducted because the linearity test indicated a non-linear relationship (p = 0.006). Descriptively, the majority of respondents were found to have relatively low levels of nationalism (53.2%) and social participation (46,85%).
