dc.description.abstract | Haji Medan General Hospital is a type B hospital located in North Sumatra Province. Based on the initial survey, it is known that in January 2025 waste production increases every day. If not managed properly, it is feared that it can increase the risk of spreading disease. It was found that waste transporters do not use complete PPE, trolleys are not closed, and there is no special lane for transporting waste. This study aims to analyze the infrastructure and management system of medical and nonmedical solid waste. This type of research is observational by analyzing data through observation and interview techniques. The objects in this study consisted of 10 rooms with the subjects being the Head, Staff, and Field Officers of the waste management in the Sanitation and OHS Installation. The results showed that medical solid waste generation was 1,233.3 kg in a week, non-medical solid waste generation was 903.5 kg in a week, medical and nonmedical solid waste management infrastructure facilities have met the requirements, the medical solid waste management system has met the requirements at the reduction, transportation, and processing stages. The stages of sorting, packaging, and storage of medical solid waste have not met the requirements. The non-medical solid waste management system has met the requirements at the stages of sorting, transportation, storage, and final processing. The stage of sorting and reducing non-medical solid waste has not met the requirements. Suggestions to hospital to reconfirm the use of waste bag colors, provide training to management officers, pay attention to the use of PPE, and provide special lanes for transporting waste in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation Number 2 of 2023 concerning Environmental Health and Minister of Health Regulation Number 7 of 2019 concerning Hospital Environmental Health. | en_US |
