This study aims to examine the influence of secure attachment style on selfcompassion among university students involved in romantic relationships. Secure attachment style is characterized by a positive view of oneself and others, while self-compassion refers to the ability to be kind to oneself when facing life’s difficulties and shortcomings, along with the awareness and understanding that suffering, failure, and imperfections are part of life. This study employed a quantitative research method using simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 588 Indonesian university students currently in romantic relationships, selected through convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Self-Compassion Scale and the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to test the effect of secure attachment style on self-compassion. The results showed that secure attachment style has a significant positive effect on self-compassion among students in romantic relationships, F(1, 586) = 4.940, p = .027, with an R² of 0.008. This indicates that secure attachment style explains approximately 0.8% of the variance in self-compassion, while the remaining 99.2% is influenced by other factors. These findings suggest that secure attachment style plays an important role in developing self-compassion among students in romantic relationships, although its contribution is relatively small.en_US
