Analisis Sistem Drainase dalam Upaya Meminimalisir Banjir pada Kawasan Jalan Puri Kecamatan Medan Kota

Abstract

Medan City is the third largest city in Indonesia, This city with a fairly large area certainly has many advantages and disadvantages, and also various problems in it. One of the problems that still often occurs is Flooding. Puri Road is one of the roads that is often affected by flooding. After being studied, the floods that often occur are caused by the inability of the Drainage to accommodate water that will later be channeled into the River. Also, the lack of maintenance on the Drainage and many people still throwing garbage into the Drainage are strong triggers for flooding. Based on the results of the study of rainfall intensity and calculation of planned discharge, it was concluded that the Puri road area has a fairly high rainfall intensity and discharge that exceeds the drainage capacity. Due to the inability of the Drainage to accommodate the water discharge, a redesign was carried out on the Drainage. So that there was a change in the dimensions of the Drainage which is expected to be able to accommodate the water discharge in the Puri Road area, Medan Kota District
