Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of industrial areas on the development of land use and road network systems in Medan Deli District. The industrial area in Medan Deli District is part of the Medan Industrial Zone which includes three sub-districts, namely Medan Deli District and Medan Labuhan District in Medan City and Percut Sei Tuan District in Deli Serdang Regency. In this research, the industrial area is a static factor and influences the development of the surrounding area, especially changes in land use and road network systems. The research method used is observation and geospatial analysis supported by the availability of secondary data in the form of satellite images and spatial planning documents. The results of observation analysis and geospatial analysis show that industrial areas have quite a significant influence on the dynamics of land use changes in areas around industrial areas and have an influence on determining and expanding access to the road network that connects industrial areas with surrounding residential areas as well as access to existing infrastructure. other. A fairly dominant influence occurs in changes in residential/residential land use which have become quite extensive since the Medan industrial area began operating, especially in Mabar Subdistrict and Titipapan Subdistrict. Meanwhile, the road network system has increased, both in terms of access and road length, in Titipapan Village, Mabar Village and Tanjung Mulia Village. Connecting road access between industrial areas and residential areas is also encouraged with access connections to the development of the Belawan-Tanjung Morawa toll road network which is connected to the Sumatra toll road network. Based on the results of this analysis, it shows that industrial areas have a significant influence on the development of the surrounding area by changing land use patterns and improving the road network system.
