Kajian Penerapan PHT dan Kelayakan Usahatani Kubis (Brassica oleracea L.) di Desa Ajijahe Kecamatan Tigapanah Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Cabbage is one of the widely cultivated horticultural commodities with high economic and nutritional value which is the mainstay of farmers, especially in Karo Regency. Pest and disease attacks are an obstacle for cabbage farmers who are usually controlled with pesticides. This study aims to assess the application of IPM and analyse the feasibility of cabbage (Brassica oleracea) farming in Ajijahe Village, Tigapanah District, Karo Regency, and examine the effect of these costs on the income of cabbage farmers. This research was conducted in Ajijahe Village, Tigapanah District, Karo Regency. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through surveys to cabbage farmers in the research location. The results showed that the average cost of controlling pests and plant diseases was 29.73% of the total cost. The calculation of R / C = 1.25> 1 so that the farm is said to be feasible. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained significance obtained 0.440 greater than 0.05% and the value of tcount (0.788) smaller than ttable (2.007) so that the cost of pest and disease control does not significantly affect the income of farmers. Farmers' level of education affects knowledge and techniques for controlling pests and plant diseases.
