This thesis discusses the phenomenon of hikonka in the Drama Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko by Ozaki Masaya. The study aims to analyze the depiction of hikonka in the Drama Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and identify the factors that influence the main character, Kuwano Shinsuke, to choose not to marry. Hikonka refers to an individual's decision not to marry based on personal choice. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. The theoretical framework includes phenomenology, the sociology of literature, and the Two-Factor Theory. The finding show that Kuwano Shinsuke, a 53-year-old single man, is portrayed as an individual who avoids taking risks, is deeply absorbed in his work as an architect, is self-motivated, tends toward anti-romanticism, and prefers to live alone. The factors that influenced the decision are divided into two, namely motivator (internal) and hygiene (external) factors. The motivating factors underlying this finding are independence, freedom of life, and self-development. Meanwhile, the hygiene factors that influenced her decision were social pressure and negative experiences in relationships.
