Abstract

Government should strengthen the role Of local government in implementing the program in regional energy sector, Local government, through its authority, can provide its optimal support for achieving its target in national development in energy sector, especially in renewable new energy, The Objeetive of this research is to analyze applicable legal provisions, the position, role and authority of local government in developing renewable new energy. The research uses juridical normative research method. The data are gathered by using Literature materials and secondary data and conducting library research. The urgency of regulating the development of renewable energy is the realization to support national energy security since energy plays an important role. RUED-P (Provincial Energy General Plan) is expected to be able to simplifv current energy problems in in the local areas and challenge in the future, and the responsive program and activily to any problems in the local areas The authority of local government to increase the contribution of Renewable and New Energy n the National Mixed Energy still faces a number of problems and challenges, in the aspecis of policy or regulation in order to support the development of Renewable New Energy, the aspect of accurate data supplying, and Jinancial aspect to develop Renewable New Energy for private investors.
