dc.description.abstract | The cherry plant (Phyllanthus acidus (L.) Skeels) is one of the herbs that has the
potential as a medicine. One of the bioactive compounds that plays a role in this is
flavonoids. Isolation and identification of flavonoid compound groups from the bark of
the cherry plant (Phyllanthus acidus (L.) Skeels) has been carried out, starting with the
maceration extraction stage with methanol solvent. The concentrated methanol extract
was repeatedly extracted with ethyl acetate until negative with the 5% FeCl3 test. The
ethyl acetate extract was dissolved with methanol and partitioned with n- hexane until
clear. The concentrated methanol extract was then analyzed by TLC, then separated by
column chromatography with silica gel as the stationary phase with ethyl acetate
chloroform eluent (90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, 30:70, 20:80, and 10:90)
as the mobile phase. The eighth fraction was selected for purification by column
chromatography with silica gel as the stationary phase with chloroform: ethyl acetate
(40:60) as the mobile phase. The pure compound obtained was in the form of a yellow
amorphous solid as much as 7 mg with an Rf value = 0.52 using chloroform: ethyl
acetate (20:80) %. Furthermore, the obtained compound was analyzed by UV- Visible Spectrophotometer, Infrared Spectrophotometer (FT-IR), and Proton Nuclear Magnetic
Resonance Spectrophotometer (1H-NMR). Spectroscopic data shows that the isolated
compound is an isoflavone. | en_US |
