    Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationship between place attachment and stress among students who utilized Campus Green Space (CGS) at Universitas Sumatera Utara. Place attachment referred to the emotional and cognitive bonds individuals formed with a place, whereas stress was understood as a psychological response that emerged when individuals faced pressures exceeding their coping capacities. The study involved 365 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The instruments used were a place attachment scale, developed based on the dimensions of place identity and place dependence by Williams and Vaske, and a stress scale, constructed based on the dimensions of perceived helplessness and perceived self efficacy by Cohen. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test. The results showed a significant negative relationship between place attachment and stress among CGS users at Universitas Sumatera Utara (r = -0.362; p < 0.001). These findings indicated that the higher the students’ place attachment to CGS, the lower their stress levels. This study strengthened empirical evidence that campus green spaces played an essential role not only in providing aesthetic value but also as a source of psychological support and stress reduction for students.
