Paris Beach Turism as a Driver of Economic Development in Tigaras Village, Dolok Pardamean Sub-District, Simalungun Regency
Abstract
Tigaras Village in Dolok Pardamean District, Simalungun Regency, has enormous
natural and cultural tourism potential, particularly its beautiful lake. However,
this potential has not been fully utilized to improve community welfare. This study
aims to identify strategies for developing a tourism village that can improve the
local economy, describe the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes),
Tourism Groups (Pokdarwis), and traditional institutions, and analyze the impact
of tourism village development on community income. This study used a
qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted
through observation, interviews, and documentation using a purposive sampling
technique. The results indicate that the implemented strategies include utilizing
local potential for superior products such as ulos, strengthening MSMEs,
increasing human resource capacity through entrepreneurship and digital
marketing training, and strengthening local institutions. The impact of this
tourism village development is evident in increased community income, the
creation of new tourism jobs in the creative sector, and the preservation of Batak
cultural heritage. The village is now beginning to become economically
independent through the professional management of its tourist destination by the
Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and Tourism Groups (Pokdarwis).
