This study aims to determine the role of teacher efficacy on burnout among teachers
at SD Sultan Iskandar Muda Medan. The research method used was correlational
quantitative with a total sampling technique involving 47 teachers. Data were
collected using two validated psychological scales: the teacher efficacy scale and
the burnout scale. The results of the analysis showed that the data were normally
distributed, linear, and free from heteroscedasticity. The results obtained were p <
.001 with a correlation coefficient R = 0.768, R² = 0.590, F (1,45) = 64.862, p <
.001. These results indicate that teacher efficacy contributes 59% to burnout. This
finding suggests that the higher the teacher's efficacy, the lower the level of burnout
experienced. This is consistent with previous studies indicating that teachers’ belief
in their abilities can reduce work-related exhaustion. Therefore, it is important for
educational institutions to maintain and improve teacher efficacy in order to prevent
teacher burnout.
