dc.description.abstractThe performance of employees is a crucial element in assessing a company’s success, particularly in industries that depend significantly on manual labor, like PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk., Aek Nauli Area. This research intends to examine how the work setting and workload affect the performance of Chainsaw Operators. The study took place between January and March 2025, involving a sample of 27 chainsaw operators. This research utilized a quantitative strategy that involved a survey technique. The findings indicated that the workplace environment significantly and positively influenced employee performance, as evidenced by a t-value of 10,772, which exceeds the t-table value of 2,0639. Likewise, workload had a favorable and notable impact on employee performance, demonstrated by a t-value of 10,133, which exceeds the t-table value of 2,0639. At the same time, the work setting and the amount of work had a notable impact on employee performance, with an Adjusted R Square value of 86,2%, suggesting that 13,8% of the differences in employee performance are affected by other factors not analyzed in this research. Improving the work environment and managing workloads effectively are crucial for facilitating the best performance of field operators.en_US
