Radar as a tool for detecting, tracking, measuring distance, speed and other characteristics of an object in principle uses electromagnetic waves in its working system. Electronic devices in the radar system operate at microwave frequencies. In radar, the hybrid coupler is a component that plays an important role in separating the transmission signal (Tx) and the reception signal (Rx), while also functioning as a link between the antenna and the radar signal processing system. In this study, a hybrid coupler modeling was carried out using multilayer CPW MMIC technology for maritime radar applications in the working frequency range of 16.3 GHz to 17.4 GHz in accordance with the Maritime Mobile radio frequency allocation of the Indonesian region. To achieve this goal, a research stage was carried out which began with modeling the multilayer CPW line and analyzing its characteristics, in order to obtain the impedances of 50 Ω and 35 Ω required for hybrid coupler modeling. The hybrid coupler for monolithic microwave integrated circuits with a working frequency range of 16.3 GHz to 17.4 GHz was successfully modeled using the multilayer coplanar waveguide technique. The resulting hybrid coupler design has a VSWR of 1.1, amplitude balance of 0.49 dB, phase balance of -87.25° and isolation of -31 dB at a frequency of 16.85 GHz.en_US
