    Abstract
Nosocomial infections remain a serious issue in healthcare facilities, partly due to poor hospital environmental health. Environmental health measures serve as key preventive efforts to reduce the risk of infection. These include proper linen management by laundry and CSSD installation, as non-medical service units providing linen for all hospital units. At Perdagangan regional hospital, issues remain in the laundry installation, such as damaged drying machines, drying linen by sun exposure, and no proper documentation. Similarly, in the CSSD, linen sterilization documentation is also not conducted. This research aims to analyze the linen management and germs counts on clean linen at laundry and CSSD installation of Perdagangan Regional Hospital, Simalungun District. This research is descriptive with observational, interview, and laboratory test approaches. The germs counts samples consisted of seven linens, namely bed sheets, blankets, and pillowcases from the laundry and four surgical gowns from the CSSD. The research objects included all areas involved in linen management at both installations. Research findings in laundry installation showed that facilities (56.25%), infrastructure (83.33%), equipment (50%), maintenance (75%), and human resources (57.1%) met the standards. However, the linen management in the laundry (43.48%) did not meet the standards based on Ministry of Health Regulation Number 7 of 2019. In the CSSD, facilities (100%) and human resources (54.5%) met the standards, while infrastructure (33.33%), equipment (35%), and maintenance (20%) did not meet the standards. The linen management in CSSD (51,72%) met the standards based on the CSSD Units Guidelines in Hospitals. Laboratory tests showed all clean linen samples exceeded the acceptable germs counts limit of 20 CFU/100 cm². All sterile linen samples also did not meet the requirements due to bacterial counts exceeding 0-5 CFU/cm². Therefore, monitoring and improvements are needed in both installations to minimize infection risks.
